The European Commission has approved the temporary removal of all duties and quotas on Ukrainian products imported into the European Union – in the context of the Russian armed invasion of Ukraine, writes portal “Radio Liberty” .

“These measures will boost trade and allow Ukraine’s economy to function. This is vital for winning the war and recovering from the war. It shows the firmness of the EU’s intention to help the ‘Ukraine in difficult times,’ wrote Deputy Head of the European Commission Valdis Dombrovskis.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said he had discussed the details of the decision with European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and expressed his gratitude to Ukraine’s European partners for the decision.
The European Commission’s decision must be approved by the European Parliament and the governments of the 27 EU member states.
