On May 8, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky presented awards to employees of the State Emergency Service (GSChS). The award ceremony took place in the presence of Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, who is visiting Ukraine.
Among the winners was the dog Patron, who helped search for mines in the territories where the fighting was taking place. The canister has become famous in social networks, and in the Ukrainian state emergency service they consider it their talisman.
“I awarded sapper Patron, who not only helps to neutralize explosive objects, but also helps teach our children the necessary safety rules in the territory where there is a threat of mines,” Interfax-Ukraine quotes, quoted by Zelensky.
Patron, the State Emergency Service of Ukraine wrote on its Telegram channel, was happy to meet Trudeau, even though the Canadian prime minister didn’t have a dog’s favorite treat – a piece of cheese.
